Alexandra Couvadelli is Vice President at Gard (UK) Limited, with extensive experience in handling complex maritime casualties and high-value claims. Until 2023, she served as Senior Claims Director at Thomas Miller, where she was responsible for P&I and FD&D matters. Prior to joining the P&I sector, Alexandra worked with leading Athens and London-based law firms specialising in maritime law, as well as within a ship-owning company. She also has practical seafaring experience, having sailed on board a bulk carrier.

Alexandra is a dual-qualified Greek and English solicitor. She holds an LLM from the University of Southampton and a Diploma in Oil, Gas and Petrochemicals from North Kent College. In addition, she is a marine pollution expert, with extensive experience in sanctions, piracy and maritime security, as well as complex charterparty disputes.

Alexandra lectures widely in her areas of expertise and regularly contributes to the maritime community through academic and industry fora, sharing her broad perspective on P&I, legal risk, and contemporary challenges facing the shipping industry.
