Iain joined the London marine insurance market in 1986, working in the Yacht team of the Prudential. A move to K.J.Coles syndicate (latterly part of Amlin) followed in 1987, where he served as Deputy Yacht Underwriter.
Iain moved from Yachts to larger Hull business in 1992, when he joined the then quite new Catlin syndicate. Iain led the Hull team there that developed into one of the largest leading accounts in London.
A move followed back to Amlin 2009, where Iain was brought in to head up an established leading Hull account.
The opportunity to start a new Hull account at a well-regarded syndicate, tempted Iain away to join Apollo, an independent, privately owned syndicate. Starting in 2017, the account has grown to be a sizeable book of business, written partly as a Consortium, with our long-term partner, Munich Re Syndicate. The account has developed into a well balanced and to date at least, profitable book of business!
Iain is a member of the LMA’s Joint War Committee and is currently Co-Chair of the Joint Hull Committee.
