Michael Serghi is the newly appointed Marine Claims Director of BMS Harris and Dixon Marine. He started his career in Marine Claims with a specific focus on Hull and Machinery in 2015 as an Average Adjuster for Francis & Arnold, shortly after completing his LLB in Law at the University of Hertfordshire. Despite his love for the technical elements of Average Adjusting, he decided to get his first job in London and made the move from Adjusting to claims broking when securing a role with Tysers as a Marine Claims Broker in 2018 where he handled Hull & Machinery and Ports and Terminal claims. In 2020, just before Covid hit, Michael went on to secure a position with Global Insurer Chubb as a Marine Claims adjuster where he handled claims internationally before securing his first position as a Claims Manager in 2022 for One Global Broking where he helped build a strong team, with a specific focus on technically minded people and adding a personal touch to each claim harnessing his technical knowledge and abilities. When he’s not scuttling down the marine rabbit hole, he likes to spend my time with friends and family over great food and better wine and enjoys discussing and tinkering with anything car and / or engine related.
